Introduction

The level of entrepreneurship in a country and the extent to which this is based on innovation and technology itself help to understand its power or weakness (D. Birch). It is a fact that the increase in jobs comes from companies that survive and grow, though small.

Catalonia has always been cradle of entrepreneurs, entrepreneurship there. Trying to follow that spirit surfacing and does so in an innovative way and with strength and continuity contribute to building a more competitive country.

Objectives

* Getting students seriously contemplate (as an alternative to paid employment) the ability to create their own company at the end of the studies.
* Encourage entrepreneurship and creativity, so necessary in any business and jobs today.
* Give a general overview of the company, from the management point of view, combining different specialties.

  • 48 - To be able to identify the information needs in order to manage the main departments within organisations.
  • 52 - To develop interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • 54 - To be able to express one’s ideas and formulate arguments in a logical and coherent way, both verbally and in writing.

  • 04 - To understand and know how to use financial terms within a business framework.
  • 19 - To analyse quantitative financial variables and take them into account when making decisions.
  • 22 - To be able to identify the nature and behaviour of producers, consumers and investors.
  • 26 - To comprehend and use the basic concepts of marketing and the main sectorial policies and understand the commercial environment in which these companies operate.
  • 32 - To acquire problem solving skills based on quantitative and qualitative information.

Learning outcomes of the subject

The result is the development of a Business Plan group or individual, full and deep.

Teaching and learning activities

In person

The training will be theoretical and practical. The method used business case study, tests, exercises, etc. All this material is used as a basis for discussion, making the classes very investments with solving real problems raised by students about their field work to be doing their own business plan every day, with team work in class, etc. .

We will use new information technologies whenever necessary (computerized accounting, market research via internet)

It will also work on each participant in generating confidence in himself and his plan through various exhibitions in front of peers and mock selling the product or service, etc..

Evaluation systems and criteria

In person

  •  class: 30%
  • Business Plan: 50%
  • Final exam: 20%
