Introduction

Clinical Residence II will be held in the Dentistry University Clinic (CUO) at the International University of Catalonya (UIC). The residency will allow interaction with patients and undergraduate studends, contributing and sharing their knowledge of surgery previusly worked in Clínical Residence I.

Pre-course requirements

There are no prerequisites.

Objectives

The residents should help and collaborate with the clinical undergaduate dentistry profesors in the assistence and advisement of undergraduate students in their clinical practice. Since it is expected that the residents acquire teaching skills.

Competences / Learning outcomes of the degree programme

At the end of the course, the resident should have improved their teaching skills acquired in previous courses, being able to explain treatment options and basic surgical techniques used by undergraduate students.

Learning outcomes of the subject

Students should be able to help instructors and undergraduate students, as well as collaborate with other areas and departments in order to treat patients with a multidisciplinary approach.

Syllabus

All IMOS students must be in contact with teachers and students of Integrated Clinic, in order to provide patients with the best treatment options.

Teaching and learning activities

In person

The course will consist in assisting clinical practices performed in the CUO, at the schedule assigned to the student IMOS,  lasting one academic year.

Evaluation systems and criteria

In person

The resident will be evaluated through attendance at clinical practice at the undergraduate assigned schedule. Skills, involvement and participation will also be evaluated. Attendance is mandatory, except in those practices that coincide with courses or conferences that are also compulsory for students of IMOS. Punctuality and behavior toward students, teachers and patients will also be evaluated.
