Introduction

Oral Implantology is a discipline widely used for prosthetic rehabilitation of patients with single, partial and complete edentulism. This rehabilitation includes a diagnostic and planning phase, a surgical act in which implants are installed and finally the preparation and placement of the prosthesis in the patient's mouth.
The clinical practice of prosthodontics with patients at the University Clinic of Dentistry ( CUO ) will serve to reinforce the theoretical knowledge acquired in lectures, seminars and pre - clinical practices. Students visit patients for the first time, perform a complete diagnosis and develop a treatment plan , interim or transitional prostheses and possible alternatives. After installing the implants and healing , the student must follow a step by step procedure (impression taking, structure try-in, colour try-in) to manufacture the prosthesis and finally deliver it to the patient. The aim of this clinical practice is to guide the student so that he/she can perform an oral rehabilitation, from the diagnostics to the installation of the prosthesis. The students of the third year, will provide treatments with increased difficulty

Pre-course requirements

Mandatory attendance to practices in Clínica Odontològica. Have successfully completed previous course practices.

Objectives

The aim of this course of clinical practice is that students can diagnose, develop a treatment plan and eventually rehabilitate their patients visitting the University Dental Clinic (CUO). Difficulty of the cases treated will be higher than the previous year.
