Introduction


Despite major advances in the field of preventive dentistry dental caries remains the main reason why our child patients come to the dental clinic. The differences between the anatomy of temporary and permanent dentition determined that restorers and pulp treatments result different from both dentitions .

Objectives

Data for clinical practice objectives are : to practice with phantoms diagnostic techniques, preventionand different treatments ; integrated into daily clinical practice digital photography systems and software for presentation and monitoring of clinical cases ; and clinical and theoretical teaching practice in collaboration with master teachers of undergraduate students

Competences / Learning outcomes of the degree programme

 

Being able to identify and handle the materials used in dentistry . Being able to correctly perform the various treatments common in everyday clinical practice. Being able to isolate with rubber dam. On the other hand assisting undergraduate practical classes with teachers of matter helping the preparation of seminars and other activities supporting students will be required.

Learning outcomes of the subject


It is expected that students will be able to successfully complete a medical history of dentistry as well as knowing how to handle the different most widely used treatments odontopediátricos different materials. On the other hand , is expected to know properly perform all rubber dam isolation and acquire the manual dexterity required to perform the major preventative, restorative and pulp .

Syllabus


Preclinical practices will be developed: - Radiographs - Anaesthesia and suture - Prints and zocalado - Zocalado wax - Digital Photography - Isolation and sealed - Cavities - Pulpotomies - pulpectomies - Crowns - Pulp treatments in young permanent dentition.

Teaching and learning activities

Students will conduct clinical practices in phantoms previous theoretical explanation from the teachers.

Evaluation systems and criteria

In person

The head teacher will score each of the preclinical practices undertaken . It is imperative to approve clinical work .
