The program of Master degree in Aesthetic Restorative dentistry offers a very wide practical clinical activity and at the same time wants to deepen in the knowledge by students of dental laboratory.
Nowadays, in the world of modern dentistry, new technologies have developed a set of systems of work such as CAD-CAM, which require basic knowledge of materials and laboratory procedures to make restorers works and that the dentist could perform it in his/her own clinic. Therefore, in the subject of laboratory techniques of fixed prostheses, we develop these protocols of work and also provide students with the knowledge and basic tools to accomplish those objectives.
Students will follow the work protocols established at the University for different dental laboratory procedures. At the same time, they will acquire manual techniques of each of the steps to take and guidelines to successfully develop these protocols.
Reading of the specific literature about the aesthetic diagnosis in dentistry. Follow the book by Dr. Mauro Fradeani about the aesthetic rehabilitation and the aesthetic analysis. Also review specific articles on the topic of Dr. Magne, Dr. Galip Gürel, Dr. Dietschi, Dr. Rocca among others.
The student is able to make preparations in phantoms for non-adhesive fixed prosthesis
The students will be able to do articulator mounting of working models
The student is able to make the necessary wax for the correct diagnosis and to make provisional prosthesis and aesthetic tests
The student is able to make provisional teeth in a classic way
Students learn to make provisional teeth with CAD/CAM techniques
Students learn to make aesthetic provisionals for the anterior sector.
The students learn to prepare Maryland bridges
The students learn to prepare resin models
The students learn direct and indirect techniques in posterior resin models

Laboratory practices of fixed prosthesis develop in the L7 laboratory, where are the necessary machines required to perform and make the production of diagnostic prosthesis, assembly on articulator, emptying plaster models, model preparation, etc.
Practice, always come preceded by a brief presentation of the work to be performed and a hands-on of each of the steps the student must follow, in order to show the manual skills needed to obtain good results.
During the first year, in addition to the practices in the laboratories, we have the collaboration of great professionals of the field, who perform presentations of different techniques and do an individualized hands-on for all.
There is a continuous assessment every day at the end of the practice. It will take into account the knowledge of the subject as well as the execution of work in practices and the active participation of students in their development
