Wednesday every 15 days from 12:00h to 13:00h. Begins in January.

Introduction

The clinical seminar is a session in which the students will present the development of the treatment plan of clinical cases of their patients.

Cases where complete clinical procedures performed for diagnosis and treatment plan of the patient and the outcome of the case will be presented. At the end of the presentation questions and discussion of the case will take place.

Pre-course requirements

Degree in dentistry.

Objectives

The main goal is to practice the presentation and defense of clinical cases  that have been carried out by students in the University dental clinic.

Be able to present and defend a clinic case in public, on a scientific basis.

Justify the treatments carried out basing on scientific evidence.

Syllabus

Periodontal examination.

Periodontal diagnosis.

Periodontal prognosis.

Hygienic phase.

Surgical phase.

Rehabilitation phase.

Periodontal mainteinance phase.

Teaching and learning activities

In person

In each session, a case will be presented by a student. It must be presented in power point format and to be approximate 15-20 minutes long. It should contain all the treatment done, at least until the re-evaluation of hygienic phase.
