Introduction


Personalized attention to students individually or in groups for monitoring works, exhibitions or study.          As with other materials, dentistry fall under dental evolving due to major advances in the field of preventive dentistry , the development of new dental materials and the emergence of new techniques for behavior management of child patient , which necessitates constant training by professionals . It is important to keep up to date on new publications, have critical skills and acquire the knowledge necessary to renew in everyday clinical practice as well as being able to actively participate in research.

Objectives


The main objective of this course is that students can conduct a literature review on a topic of interest. Another objective is that students learn to plan clinical cases from a correct diagnosis and treatment plan .

Competences / Learning outcomes of the degree programme


Knowing how to perform a literature review and use as a standard tool in their ongoing training and professional . You implement techniques based on scientific evidence , that is supported in the scientific literature .

Learning outcomes of the subject

 

It is expected that students will be able to do a systematic literature review based on scientific evidence on a particular topic . Which is capable of making a critical study of the scientific articles reviewed. Who understands the need for the literature as a training tool in your life professional. The student must also be able to carry out the planning of the treatment plan of clinical cases of patients, which must explain breads argumentándolos possible treatment with a literature review.

 



Syllabus

This course is divided into three parts Review of current literature Review of current topics that teachers considered of interest Presentation of clinical cases In the review of the current literature the latest scientific publications on a topic of interest within the area of dentistry will be reviewed. Both items for systematic reviews or meta- analyzes, as published clinical studies or search will be reviewed. In the case presentation will be held the presentation by the student of clinical cases under study , presenting the current status of the patient and possible treatment plans .

Teaching and learning activities

In person

Classes literature review will be taught in a participatory manner by teachers and students. They have to prepare the literature to teach each class and require that all students have read the articles to participate in class. A student will present a summary of articles , Professor loa articles discuss with students and other students also participate in the class. The teacher directed activity pear assume the objectives . The presentation of clinical cases will be by a student , and teachers and other students participate in the presentation with different issues up to establish an appropriate treatment plan for the patient.



Evaluation systems and criteria

In person


After completing the course the student will present the literature review on the chosen topic in Word and Powerpoint format. In addition, students will present a case at the end of each semester will be scored and must approve . They also evaluated at the end of the second semester summaries of the articles proposed by the faculty.
