La cultura forma parte de nuestra identidad, configura quiénes somos y cómo percibimos, entendemos, interpretamos, clasificamos y describimos aquello que nos rodea. Por lo tanto, desde esta perspectiva es posible afirmar que cualquier acto comunicativo puede convertirse en un acto social que se enmarca dentro de una realidad cultural que en mayor o menor medida comparten los hablantes de una misma lengua.
Así pues, el peso de la cultura en la adquisición y la enseñanza de lenguas es especialmente relevante en este contexto en el cual el enfoque es eminentemente comunicativo.
Se debe haber alcanzado el nivel B2 del MCERL en las cuatro competencias básicas: comprensión oral y escrita, expresión oral y escrita.
El curs té com a objectiu principal la presa de consciència sobre la importància de la cultura a l´aula més enllà d' un element present en l´ensenyament-aprenentatge: fent un tractament de la llengua com a cultura en si mateixa.
Al terminar el curso, los alumnos habrán leído distintos materiales académicos en las áreas de lengua y cultura y se habrán creado sus propias opiniones sobre distintos temas relevantes para la asignatura. Asimismo, habrán participado en distintos debates y presentacions que dependen en gran parte de sus habilidades comunicativas en lengua inglesa, de su competencia docente y de su capacidad de integrar la cultura en el aula.

El curs es basa en una metodologia mixta en al que es combinen lectures acadèmiques i posterior discussió, activitats formatives de caire acadèmic tant orals com escrites, presentacions i treballs individuals i en grup.
