Demographic projections for the coming years tell us about an aging population and with more chronic medical conditions. The social reality is causing a considerable number of people with special needs, fragile elders or with important chronic pathologies that require specialized and differentiated care in our clinics. These patients require dental care that goes beyond the mere habitual and occasional welfare function, encompassing prevention concepts and incorporating differentiated work equipment and techniques
Degree in Dentistry or Stomatology
That dentists should know how to develop full clinical care for patients with special needs, with complex medical conditions, physical limitations
That the dentists acquire skills in the management of patients with techniques of sedation by nitrous oxide
That dentists know how to handle clinical situations and pathologies that may occur in elderly patients and fragile patients
That dentists know the diagnosis, treatment and management of the most frequent pathologies of the oral mucosa and are in a biopsy condition if they are needed
To train dentists who are aware of the medical and pharmacological pathologies that condition dental treatments in elderly and disabled patients.
Form odontologists able to integrate in multidisciplinary care teams to the elderly.
To train dentists interested in research and study of old age, disability and oral pathology.
To train dentists who can treat patients with medical or pharmacological compromise odontologically.
To train dentists who can know the diagnosis and treatment of mucous lesions.
