Objectives

Learn to overcome the fear of public speaking.

Assimilate and practice various techniques of oral expression (breathing, vocalization, learning to express yourself with confidence and security).

Learn to present brief expressive speech.

Learn to present a brief lesson on Law.

Teaching and learning activities

In person

At the beginning of each class, the teacher will present the concepts and skills that must be acquire and put into practice by the student; besides, the students will do speaking activities in the classroom, supervised by the teacher. 

In class the teacher will ask for assessments of the exercises (group dynamics and sharing). The work will be done individually and in groups.

Evaluation systems and criteria

In person

Students will be assessed on the classroom (45%), for which preparation is necessary.
The final exam (oral exam) will make up 55 % of the final mark.
Students must attend all classes. An absence will be penalized by having 2 points deducted from the final mark. Two late arrivals in class will be considered an absence.

Nor phones or laptops will are to used on the classroom, unless authorized by the teacher.

If the student fails the final exam, the maximum mark awarded will be only 50 points in the retake.
Besides, in the retake the student will be required to prepare three speeches whose subject will be indicated by the teacher.
