Introduction

This course develops the theoretical study and practical skills needed to perform the functions of the nurse. This subject is constituted by knowledge of the theoretical, simulation laboratories and practice nurses in hospitals.

 

 

-In addition, this course students will have the possibility of a joint undertaking practicum volunteer in NGOs or foundations (Places are limited. At the start of the course will receive information about the selection process and the various possibilities).

 

-The UIC charity project is a comprehensive learning experience in nature, promoting the acquisition of skills for personal development (such as responsibility, social commitment, service capacity, etc..)

Objectives

After completing this course the student should be able to:

- Start the implementation of the nursing process in clinical practice.
- Incorporate concepts of nursing models in implementing the nursing process.
- Apply knowledge in the humanities, biology, physiology and anatomy in the planning of patient care.
- Use appropriate communication techniques with patients, colleagues and other health professionals.
- Assess health status in clinical cases based on theories and research in nursing.
- Formulate nursing diagnoses based on analysis of data generated in the assessment of health status using the correct nomenclature and diagnostic labels.
- Identify objectives and expected results in relation to the diagnosis
- Perform nursing functions to promote, maintain and restore the optimum level of wellness.
- Evaluate nursing interventions in relation to the results
- Demonstrate competence and reliability to patients and other health professionals.
- Discuss the use of nursing research findings in relation to the development of nursing theories and the promotion, maintenance and restoration of health.
- Meet the criteria of normality in different health patterns: nutrition, urinary excretion, fecal elimination, hygiene and skin integrity, oxygenation, activity and rest, thermoregulation, fluid and electrolytes, sensory perception, pain, circulation, self-concept, spirituality and the loss or bereavement.

- Incorporate the concepts of nursing models in the NAP (nursing attention process)
- Begin implementation of NAPs: assessing health status in clinical cases based on theories and nursing research
- Formulate nursing diagnoses based on analysis of indicial obtained in the assessment of health status of the person
- Identify objectives and outcomes achieved in relation to nursing diagnosis
- Propose nursing interventions to promote, maintain and restore the optimal level of welfare of the individual
- Assess the status of the person in relation to health outcomes anticipated

Evaluation systems and criteria

In person

  • Midterm Exam 25% short questions
  • Tasks developed in classroom 10%
  • Multiple-choice+ short questions: final exam 40%

To make half must be passed the final test. we will consider the participation in the tasks carried out during class.

To make half must be approved the final evaluation test. Be valued participation in the tasks performed in the classroom.

2nd call is to maintain the% i% treball group of evaluative intermitja prova, També is Fara mitja if prova s'aprova the end evaluative.

No fees of Honor awarded for 2nd call.

3rd call like the first.

 

For students who do the practicum solidarity:

- The overall assessment of the course (see above) will count for 85% of total solidarity and practicum, 15%. It is a prerequisite for applying these percentages, having previously approved the overall mark of the course assessment.

 

Practicum-assessment will be supportive: by the NGO or foundation where such practices are conducted and by conducting a reflective journal (corrected by the coordinator of the subject to which associate the practicum).
