Teaching and learning activities

In blended

BLENDED LEARNING METHODOLOGY

• Classes will be face-to-face in the UIC classroom and with about half of the students; And at the same time will be broadcast live (streaming) for students who are following it from their home, through the Collaborate program that is in Moodle of the course; All with the reason for keeping the safety distances in the classrooms. The distribution of university attendance days will be indicated in a separate document.

• The teachers of the course have programmed and coordinated different methodological systems according to the competences and content to be taught. In this sense they range from theoretical classes with participation in debate and Kahoot, to lecture classes followed by group activities, with both face-to-face and non-attendance students. Also there will be classes with half the group to tutorize the final work of the course.

• Classes will not be recorded unless a student needs it due to Covid-19, justification must be hand-in.

Evaluation systems and criteria

In blended

The course will be evaluated by:

Final project 35% --> 20% work, 5% peer assessment of the working team and 5% teachers assessment of the oral presentation and 5% peer evaluation of oral presentation by another group.

Final exam (35%) of the contents of the course including open-ended questions and multiple-choice questions.

Activities of continuous evaluation 30% --> 25% will consist of discussions and activities in class and 5% of the evaluation role of the oral presentation group.

In order to pass the course it is necessary to have a minimum grade of 5 in each of the evaluative activities, except in the activities of continuous evaluation.

In the case of failing the evaluation it will be possible to take a second chance, except in the case of continuous evaluation.

First resit: final exam on the contents of the subject.

For students who perform the solidarity practicum in this course:

The overall grade of the assessment of the course (mentioned above) will count 85% of the total and that of the solidarity practicum, 15%. It is an indispensable requirement to apply these percentages, having previously approved the overall grade of the course evaluation. The student must inform the Student Service in which course he wants to apply the solidarity practicum at the beginning of the course. There are limited places for the realization of the solidarity practicum in each course. The management of the solidarity practicum will be carried out from the Student Service.

The evaluation of the solidarity practicum will be carried out by the NGO or foundation where such practicums are carried out, and through the realization of a thoughtful journal. Students must attend training sessions prior to the realization of the solidarity practicum, led by the Student Service.

Honours qualification will not be awarded in any resit.
