Introduction

We spend our lives waiting. Not only people. Also expect goods and physical goods (are stored) expect to spend a further link in the supply chain and ultimately be consumed. In the logistics examined using a simulator, actual cases of congestion and delay. The simulator helps define deferent scenarios to evaluate them and propose improvements in logistics systems.

On the other hand, the Commercial Distribution production systems in contact with the consumer, in any fundamental approach to business, constituting one of the most important variables of the marketing mix. In this course, we integrate our knowledge of new trends and strategies developed in the field of commercial distribution, through a comprehensive and systematic study of the variables that compose it.

Objectives

Provide an overview of current and emerging trends in the industry, choose to learn in the business environment, the best options for commercial distribution.

Develop and deepen the current concept of logistics.

Simulated queuing systems. Decision making based on simulation.

Syllabus

The program is based on six axis, related to each other:

1. Introduction to commercial distribution. Integrating distribution in the supply chain.

2. New trends in demand forecasting. The forecasting role in order to anticipate reality.

3. Actors of supply chain: warehousing, transport, logistics operators.

4. Strategic decisions in modern commercial distribution: logistic platforms, cross docking, re-engineering of distribution.

5. Infrastructures: consumer service, cycle orders and service level management.


Teaching and learning activities

In person

This course should enable reflection and internalization of the concepts developed, so combine various teaching methods. On one hand, the development of the subjects listed in the program by teachers, and secondly, by contrast and group discussion of cases and examples.
Students who have taken the course of "Logistics" in the master Emnpresas Adminsistración of Production Systems and have a custom content Logistics Module: developing a research project in accordance with the guidelines set by the teacher.  

Evaluation systems and criteria

In person

The course is punctuated distribution:

40% final exam distribution (+ multiple choice questions to solve a case)
40% research.
20% of the work done in class.   Deshacer cambios
