Introduction

Professional practices in healthcare institutions is included as a compulsory subject of continuous and structured along the four-year degree. It is a unifying element of the curriculum from which the student integrates the theoretical knowledge, thus enabling it to generate practical knowledge useful for their future professional life.

The General Practicum (P II) has a duration of 4,5 weeks and is located in the 2nd half of the second year course

Pre-course requirements

  • Vaccination (according to the rules contained in the Rating Guide) updated
  • Having the appropriate uniform
  • Having made the subject of Care Basics
  • Credits have made the Basic Simulation Laboratory
  • Not in a position to lower due to health problems, accident or any other contingency related to health.

  4. Guided participation in caring for the child / adult healthy / sick  in Primary Care
  5. Guided participation in caring for the child / adult hospitalized

  • 7. B - Understand people without prejudice, considering their physical, psychological and social aspects, as autonomous and independent individuals, ensuring respect for their opinions, beliefs and values, ensuring their right to privacy through confidentiality and professional secrecy.
  • 9. E - Promote healthy lifestyles, self-care, as well as the maintenance of therapeutic and preventive behaviors.

Learning outcomes of the subject

  • Participate in the assessment and monitoring of the adult in the field of primary care and hospitalization, identifying and communicating signs and symptoms indicating impairment of health of the patient-user
  • Propose contacts with different members of the interdisciplinary team in terms of problem with the person receiving care
  • Demonstrate knowledge of indications and adverse effects of drugs administered
  • Show respect for cultural values and beliefs of individuals and their families but differ from their own
  • Apply ethical principles, ethics of the nursing profession
  • Participate in the care of children and adults under the supervision of their clinical tutor, demonstrating responsibility and good work in implementing procedures
  • Share the use of health documentation responsibly
  • Formulate nursing diagnoses and identify medical problems and interdisciplinary

    • Clinical Mentoring: 30%
    • Academic Tutoring: 20%
    • Reflective Journal (first term of practicum): 50%
    • Practice report (second period of practice): 50%

    The evaluation documents, which specify the expected learning outcomes for students, are available on the Intranet, in the assessment dossier Practicum in aprtado "Material didactic" teaching the Course Guide. The document through which evaluate the academic tutor, the student will be shown in the first tutorial of the practicum.

    The evaluation of the dossier documents must be handed practices signed and sealed. The presentation without this requirement will mean the withdrawal of one point of the final practices.
