Introduction

The student will learn the indications for retreatment and the different techniques that exist.

Objectives

• To know which is the objective and the justification for the endodontic retreatment, as well as to make a correct diagnosis, to make decisions, and to carry out the adequate planning of the treatment.

• To have the necessary knowledge to be able to remove coronal restorations, to remove fillings, gutta- percha and hard cements, as well as silver tips and separate instruments

• To have the necessary knowledge to treat a perforation and to renegotiate the canal system.
• To gain knowledge about irrigation and medication during non-surgical orthograde retreatment. • To know and identify knowledge and procedures relating to endodontic surgery.

Teaching and learning activities

In person

A presentation in Power point on the chapter in question of the book Rhodes as well as on the articles that correspond to each chapter. The presentation will be carried out in pairs. Each student should read the chapter even though he/she does not have to carry out its presentation. Students who do not have to do a presentation must redact a word document summarizing the chapter, covering the key points. Students who do the presentation do not have to redact the word document about that chapter.

Evaluation systems and criteria

In person

The work will be evaluated weekly (Power point presentations and word documents) Final Exam on the entire subject (A minimum 70% is needed).
