Introduction

Radiographic techniques will be studied to reach a correct diagnosis and proper treatment

Pre-course requirements

No previous requirements

Objectives

1. To determine the importance of the correct capture of a conventional radiograph. 2. Employment of paralleling pins and Clark technique.

3. To know the parameters of restorability of the tooth according to the radiographic evaluation. Analysis of the interproximal x-ray.

4. To evaluate the recovery prognosis via conventional radiography of large injuries of a pulp-periapical origin.

5. To compare the use of panoramic, conventional radiography cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) when determining periapical injuries.

6. To establish limitations and indications for each one of the radiographic techniques mentioned above. 7. To understand the operational basics of the CBCT and its diagnostic indications.

8. To compare the electronic apex locators with the radiographic determination of the working length. To observe the precision and reliability of both systems.

8. To determine the differential and certain diagnosis of pulp-periapical pathologies via radiographic exploration. Analysis of root fractures, dental resorptions, periapical injuries.

9. To analyze the alterations in the periradicular tissues due to pulp and periodontal origin. 10. To determine the endo-perio relationships and vice versa from a radiographic perspective.
