Lecture and hands-on of 5 hours.
Surgical incisions, flaps and suture techniques, depending on the surgical objective, will be described in the surgical seminar. Surgical techniques in resective surgery and crown lengthening will also be presented.
Degree in dentistry.
- To know the types of incisions in resective, regenerative and mucogingival periodontal surgeries.
- To know the different types of flap.
- To know the types of suture and the different suture techniques.
- How to do osteoplasty and ostectomy.
- Student should be able to do the correct incisions depending on the type of surgery.
- The student must be able to perform different types of flap properly.
- The student must be able to know the correct suture technique in each surgical case.
- The student must be able to correctly perform the osteotomy and osteoplasty.
To do resective and crown lengthening surgeries in the dental clinic and to know the incisions and suturing techniques indicated for regenerative and mucogingival surgery.
- Objectives of surgical treatment, resective surgery and crown lengthening.
- Description of the apically positioned flap surgical technique.
- Description of the different types of flaps: total thickness, partial thickness and combined.
- Description of the different types of incisions: horizontal, vertical, submarginal, intrasulcular, etc.
- Description of the different types of suture.
- Description of the different suture techniques.
- Practice of resective surgery.
It is a theoretical-practical seminar taught by professors of the Department of Periodontology.
Attendance is mandatory.
