Introduction
Research is a thoughtful, systematic, controlled and critical procedure which aims to discover or interpret events and phenomena, relations and laws of a particular field: a search for facts, a means of learning about reality, a procedure for understanding partial truths, or not discovering partial falsehoods. Research can be defined as a set of methods to solve problems whose solutions need to be obtained through a series of logical operations, taking as a starting point objective data. Research is a systematic, organized and objective process, whose purpose is to answer a question or hypothesis and to increase the knowledge and information about the unknown. Furthermore, research is a systematic activity aimed at obtaining, through observation, experimentation, new information and skills needed to explore the various fields of science and technology.

Competences/Learning outcomes of the degree programme
- CB10 - Acquire learning skills that allow them to continue studying in a self-directed and autonomous mode.
- CB6 - Knowledge and understanding to provide a basis or opportunity for originality in developing and / or applying ideas in a research context.
- CB7 - To apply the acquired knowledge, and develop their ability to solve problems in new environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their field of study.
- CB8 - Integrate knowledge and deals with the complexity of formulate judgments based on scientific evidence, from information that may be incomplete or limited, include reflecting on social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgments.
- CB9 - Communicate findings, knowledge and reasons to present to specialists and non-specialists in a clear and unambiguous.
- CE10 - Know how to apply the epistemological, ethical, legal and humanitarian exercise in research and dissemination of results.
- CE5 - Knowing how to communicate the results of scientific research paper, poster or oral presentation both scientific and academic format.
- CE6 - Learn to manage financial and human resources of a research project and meet the strategic basis for the transfer of new knowledge to the company or industry.

- CG2 - Ability to review analysis and discussion of the experimental results and to issue the corresponding conclusions.
