Introduction

This course develops your study in the theoretical and practical foundations necessary to develop the responsibilities of the nursing professional. This subject content is related to the history of nursing, knowledge of the discipline and theoretical contributions on basic nursing care necessary for incorporation into the clinical practices.

The Department of Nursing in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences has agreed that it is compulsory for all students taking a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, when participating in online classes, to turn on their camera and remain visible to lecturers and professors at all times.

Objectives

  1. Incorporate the evolution of healing from a socio-historical perspective
  2. Apply critical thinking in the decision-making process about basic health care attention.
  3. Introduce the theoretical and methodological foundations of healing.

Evaluation systems and criteria

In person



  • Group work: 20% written presentation: 10% oral presentation, (skills i23. B 21B) and 5% group evaluation (skills 11.E and 15.B)
  • Mid-term exam: short questions /multiple-choice test 20%. Skills: 3.E, 11.E i 25.E
  • Final exam: 40% multiple choice test/short questions. Skills: 3.E, 11.E, 12.B i 25.
  • Examen práctico en LBS 5%. Skills 3.E, 11.E, 12.B, 21B i 25.E

In order to take an average and pass the course you must pass the final exam and the group work

 Those students, who do not pass the final exam the first time, will be evaluated in the resits, which follow the same criteria as the first.

No Honors will be awarded to those who take a resit.

 

Honor Matrix Assignment Procedure (MH)

  1. The criterion for assigning Honorary Enrolments (MH) is based on the Excellent (9.0).
  2. The assignment is solely for the teacher and does not have to give it, even if the student has obtained a mark above 9.0.
  3. In case the teacher decides to award MH, he will not take into account the numerical mark and the highest, but will evaluate other factors. The HM might not match the highest numeric score.

Procedure for Non-presented Assignment (NP)

  1. To register an NP in the student's file, it must not have been submitted to any of the evaluation tests throughout the assignment.
  2. If a student has submitted to one of the evaluation tests, the corresponding percentages in the teaching guide will be applied, with a 0 in those not presented.
