Els programes d'Aprenentatge Integrat de Contingut i Llengua Estrangera (AICLE) s'han estès per tot Europa amb l'objectiu de millorar l'aprenentatge de les llengües estrangeres entre els ciutadans europeus. A Catalunya, per exemple, són moltes les escoles que incorporen programes AICLE en els seus plans d'estudis per tal d'oferir als seus alumnes un context òptim per a l'aprenentatge de les llengües.
L’objectiu d’aquest curs és formar a futurs mestres d’AICLE oferint-los un anàlisi exhaustiu de les característiques i resultats dels programes AICLE, així com una mirada crítica als resultats de les investigacions més rellevants en AICLE a nivell europeu. El curs farà servir enfocaments teòrics i pràctics en l'anàlisi i implementació de programes AICLE per tal de proporcionar una formació completa en AICLE.
És altament recomanable que els alumnes tinguin un nivell d’anglès B2 (segons el Marc Comú Europeu de Referència per les llengües) abans de l’inici del curs.
