Introduction

The subject of Applied Clinical Psychopathology aims to deepen updated psychopathological knowledge on the most relevant conditions from a forensic point of view, at postgraduate level.


Objectives

  • Recognize the different psychopathological disorders that occur in adulthood.

  • Know the risk factors that are linked to each of the psychopathological disorders and the underlying pathophysiological bases.

  • Know the clinical manifestations and the evolutionary course of psychopathological disorders.

  • Know the relevance of psychopathology in the field of clinical and forensic psychology.

Learning outcomes of the subject

  • The graduate will be able to recognize the specificities of each stage of the life cycle related to clinical and forensic psychopathology, psychopathological assessment and the preparation of the corresponding expert opinion

  • The graduate will be able to communicate in an understandable manner, orally or in writing, the scientific-technical psychopathological-forensic and/or legal knowledge in relation to psychopathological aspects in the legal field

  • The graduate will be able to examine documents with legal-criminal relevance related to psychopathological aspects (sentences, orders, medical-forensic and expert reports)

  • The graduate will be able to apply abstract legal categories to specific cases, so that scientific-technical and legal knowledge in the matter are adequately related

  • The graduate will be able to develop and/or apply ideas in a professional context by providing knowledge that provides a basis or opportunity to be original

  • The graduate will be able to assess the case study through the use of psychopathological concepts considering the what, the how, the when, the where and the why of the cases.

The methodology of this subject is divided as follows:

  • Master Classes

  • Analysis of clinical cases

  • Psychopathological evaluation

  • Bibliographic review

Evaluation systems and criteria

In person



Class attendance. A minimum of 80% attendance at face-to-face sessions will be required to be evaluated and successfully pass the course.

Final exam for the course. 50% of the final grade.

Directed case studies: continuous evaluation. Will be 30% of the grade

Bibliographic review: Will be 20% of the grade.
