Introduction
This course presents the most current conceptual models of the grieving process. The aim is for the student to acquire knowledge, competencies and therapeutic resources that will allow him/her to assess and address the psychological and spiritual needs of people who are in a grieving process after the loss of a loved one.

Objectives
● To work on the knowledge of bereavement care, proactively detect risk factors for pathological bereavement and attend to bereavement competently.
● To deepen the interventions in the psychological advanced care of PC teams derived from the care of patients in advanced situation and their families.
● To facilitate the acquisition of skills and therapeutic techniques for psychological intervention in the bereavement process.
Competences/Learning outcomes of the degree programme
- CN07 - Identify advanced techniques of assessment and management of physical, psychological (including spiritual) and social needs with a multicultural vision.
- CP09 - pply solutions to problems that may arise when carrying out tasks in the field of PCs.
- HB04 - Analyse complex problems in the care area with a multidimensional vision in order to solve them in a tactical and strategic manner.
Learning outcomes of the subject
At the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Identify risk factors for pathological grief and coping strategies.
- Acquire knowledge about the different models of the grief process.
- Incorporate assessment and intervention techniques in the different phases of grief.
