Introduction

Voice-over performance is the professional use of the voice to convey information, adapting tone and pace to the programme format and its timing requirements, while consistently ensuring both the intelligibility of the message and the speaker’s ability to engage the audience.

Objectives

  • To understand the importance of effective voice delivery in ensuring that information reaches the audience and that the message engages the intended target audience.
  • To develop awareness and control of one’s own voice.
  • To master intonation techniques adapted to different programme formats.
  • To manage time effectively in television and radio programmes.
  • To demonstrate the ability to improvise in television and radio programmes, with particular attention to live and simulated live broadcasts.
  • To write journalistic texts intended for oral delivery.

  • To know and develop one’s own voice.
  • To train diction.
  • To master modulation and intonation for different audiovisual formats and media.
  • To develop active listening skills and to analyse and practise time management in a programme.
  • To apply improvisation techniques.
  • To write journalistic scripts for oral delivery.
  • To understand rhythm as a fundamental element of credible and persuasive voice delivery.
  • To master radio announcing techniques.
  • To master commercial voice-over techniques.
  • To understand and apply dubbing techniques.
