Introduction
This is a practice-oriented course whose main objective is to ensure that students acquire the basic technical skills required for a career in journalism, including the operation of cameras and other studio equipment, audiovisual editing software, and the production control room.

Objectives
- To understand and practise the processes, tasks, and roles involved in audiovisual production, both in the studio and on location or in other indoor settings.
- To develop personal creativity based on a solid technical foundation.
- To develop aesthetic judgement and a personal style in the design and production of audiovisual content.
Syllabus
- To become familiar with the television studio and the Faculty’s audiovisual equipment booking system.
- To practise on-camera and behind-the-camera production skills, including stand-ups, confident on-camera presentation, and professional camera operation.
- To understand and make effective use of lighting and to control sound recording.
- To understand crew organisation, logistics, and production planning; to prepare additional information for the running order; and to apply practical production techniques during filming.
- To plan multi-camera live production and to develop staging skills for live broadcasts.
- To become familiar with Adobe software for audiovisual editing (straight cuts, fades, basic audio and colour processing), and file export.
- To understand the operation of the production control room and the director’s role in coordinating technical and creative teams.
