Introduction

Postproduction is a key phase in creating audiovisual discourse in various transmedia formats and genres. Mastery of editing and postproduction conventions is what allows for the articulation of audiovisual narrative as a whole. This course aims to awaken in students a visual and technical sensitivity to build and refine creative projects in the audiovisual world, as well as to provide a solid foundation for video editing in the professional field.

Pre-course requirements

To have successfully completed the course Multimedia Recording and Editing Techniques.

Objectives

  • To understand audiovisual editing techniques and their application in the narrative and expressive construction of audiovisual content.
  • To acquire a working knowledge of the professional editing and post-production software used in the audiovisual industry.
  • To apply colour correction techniques, texture processing, and visual filters to enhance the visual quality of audiovisual projects.
  • To integrate digital visual effects and graphic elements into post-production workflows according to the narrative and aesthetic requirements of each project.
  • To understand the main export formats, compression systems, and authoring processes used for the distribution of audiovisual content across different platforms and media.
  • To develop organisational, planning, and workflow management skills that support efficient professional practice in audiovisual post-production.

  1. Editing criteria and the role of the editor.
  2. Understanding different editing styles through simple and complex examples.
  3. Basic editing techniques in Adobe Premiere Pro.
  4. Creating narrative structures and expressive uses of audiovisual images through editing.
  5. Advanced editing techniques in Adobe Premiere Pro.
  6. Sound editing and the control of audio resources.
  7. Introduction to post-production and workflow.
  8. Introduction to post-production and visual effects (VFX).
  9. Comprehensive understanding of the post-production workflow.
