Introduction
The Bachelor's Final Project (BFP) will be carried out under the supervision of a tutor specialising in the project's subject area, who will act as a mentor and facilitator throughout the learning process.
There are two BFP modalities: academic and professional:
- Academic modality: the project will be completed individually, following the guidelines set out in the Guide for the Preparation of an Academic Bachelor's Final Project.
- Professional modality: the project will be carried out in groups of six to eight students, following the guidelines set out in the Guide for the Preparation of a Professional Bachelor's Final Project (Moodle). Group work is mandatory in this modality. Students who, for justified reasons, wish to complete the project individually must submit a formal request. The Faculty Board will review each application and decide whether to grant approval.
The Bachelor's Final Project must be an original piece of work that has not previously been submitted by the student for assessment in any other course or degree programme at any university. Furthermore, its scope and content must be consistent with the ECTS workload established in the degree curriculum.
Pre-course requirements
To enroll in the Bachelor's Final Project, students must be enrolled in the final year of their bachelor's degree programme and have passed all the courses from previous years or, where applicable, have no more than 20% of the ECTS credits corresponding to the courses from the year immediately preceding the final year of their degree programme still pending.
Objectives
- To integrate and to apply independently the knowledge, skills, and competences acquired throughout the Bachelor's Degree in Audiovisual Communication.
- To develop an original research project or professional project that meets the academic and professional standards of the discipline.
- To apply appropriate research methodologies, planning strategies, and project development processes according to the nature of the Bachelor's Final Project.
- To develop the ability to search for, select, manage, analyse, and interpret relevant information and data from academic, professional, and documentary sources.
- To formulate critical and well-founded judgements, supported by evidence, on audiovisual, scientific, technological, social, and ethical issues.
- To communicate the objectives, methodology, results, and conclusions of the project rigorously, both in written and oral form.
- To develop critical, analytical, and creative thinking in problem-solving and decision-making within the field of audiovisual communication.
- To demonstrate autonomy, responsibility, and organisational skills in the development of a comprehensive academic or professional project.
Competences/Learning outcomes of the degree programme
- CP03 - Communicate information and original ideas effectively, both orally and in writing, in Spanish, Catalan and English.
- CP04 - Apply professional ethical principles and standards of academic rigour in the audiovisual field, respecting the fundamental right to equality between women and men, promoting human rights, a culture of peace and democratic values, including the use of inclusive, non-discriminatory and stereotype-free language.
- HB01 - Use a range of media research and documentation resources.
- HB04 - Use bibliographic resources, specialised terminology and linguistic structures in English effectively for professional communication in the audiovisual field.
Learning outcomes of the subject
Students will be able to:
- Develop the ability to transfer the concepts and skills learned in the classroom to practical situations in the field of audiovisual communication, ensuring the effective integration of knowledge into daily work.
- Develop specific professional skills: To acquire technical and creative competences in areas such as audiovisual production, directing, post-production and project management, adapting to the demands of the professional environment.
- Foster teamwork and professional collaboration skills: To learn to interact effectively with different departments, work teams and clients, contributing collaboratively to the development of audiovisual projects.
- Manage projects and processes within a professional context: To develop organisational and time-management skills, ensuring the proper execution of tasks throughout all stages of audiovisual content production.
- Demonstrate adaptability and autonomous learning skills: To address unforeseen challenges in the professional environment and develop the ability to learn independently, continuously improving performance in the workplace.
- Demonstrate an ethical and responsible attitude in the workplace: To display ethical behaviour when making professional decisions, taking into account the social, cultural and environmental implications of audiovisual communication.
- Develop effective communication skills in a professional context: To improve the ability to communicate ideas, projects and results clearly, accurately and professionally in meetings, presentations and collaborations within the workplace.

- 30% Tutor
- 50% Examining Board
- 20% TFG Coordinator
* In order to pass this course, it is necessary to receive passing assessments from three different parties: the tutor, the TFG coordinator, and the final examining board.
** In order to defend the TFG during the first assessment (in May), it is essential to obtain a PASS grade in the first partial submission (which must be handed in in mid-January).
*** In order to deposit the TFG, it is essential to have the tutor's approval.
**** No class absences will be excused for TFG-related activities (such as film shootings or podcast recordings).
