GRE - Parenting, Equality and the Work-Life Balance (PIC)
The Parenting, Equality and the Work-Life Balance group aims to study and propose policies to support parenting based on intergenerational solidarity within the family. Within this context the transfer made by family care (raising children, socialisation, education) is looked at via the concept of positive parenting and co-parenting based on equality and gender diversity, and also the work-life balance.
The Council of Europe (Recommendation (2006) 19) proposes development and policies and putting into place the resources required to ensure that parenting can be carried out positively and responsibly. In Catalonia the first state policies on parenting began to be implemented in 2003.
The main objective of the group is to look further in-depth into the concepts mentioned previously in the same way as they have been worked on in the Anglo-Saxon world, and to propose their application in Catalonia. Part of the study will consist of looking at socio-demographic changes and changes in parenting styles in Catalonia in recent decades.
