The Faculty of Humanities and the Alumni Service at UIC Barcelona organised a guided tour of La Llotja de Mar in Barcelona that brought together students from our bachelor’s degree in Humanities and former students from our master’s degree in Cultural Management. In addition to seeing one of the most emblematic buildings in the city from the inside, the meeting allowed students who have passed through the University to be brought into contact with each other.

One of the graduates who attended the visit was Patricia Messa, who currently works at Casals Publishing House as an assistant to the editor of the Philosophy and Religion textbooks. According to Messa, visits such as the one to La Llotja de Mar “add extra academic meaning and allow us to understand the dynamics of Humanities,” adding that it is “an opportunity to meet students, teachers and share everything that we have in common beyond our degree.”

Another point of view was expressed by Carla Vidal, a recent graduate of the Faculty who will join us as an Alumni member at the next meeting. Vidal said that “meeting other graduates from the Faculty is a unique opportunity that goes beyond a cultural visit” and also mentioned that she will remain in contact with the University through Faculty staff members, since “they have made their mark on our time at UIC Barcelona”.

The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Judith Urbano, the Vice Dean of the Faculty, Albert Moya and the Director of Alumni, Frederic Van Dyck also attended the guided tour.
