Introduction

Students will attend in person the rehabilitation period sessions and in a present and active way (in the preparation of topics) in the ortho-period sessions. In addition, during the first trimester they will receive training in Patient Aesthetics planning.

Objectives

- To know the Basic Concepts of prostheses About implants - To know How to review the bibliography of the United Nations On Proposed Subject, to synthesize the Information and to present / display it of public form in English - Learn to debate and public defender in the concepts presented in the Review - Participate actively in a Joint Session with other areas of Knowledge

Syllabus

SUBJECT 1. INTRODUCTION TO PROSTHESIS ON IMPLANTS. Terminology in prosthesis on implants. Differentiating features between implant and natural tooth. Characteristics of implants, different shapes and surfaces. Biomechanics, the different types of forces and their effect on the implant. The different phases in the development of the treatment. Different types of prosthesis to be made. SUBJECT 2. DIAGNOSIS AND PATIENT SELECTION Anamnesis and examination of the patient. Uses of study models. Most commonly used complementary scans and why . Know what the absolute and relative indications and contraindications are. SUBJECT 3. WAXED, RADIOLOGICAL AND SURGICAL GUIDE Importance of diagnostic waxing and its applications. Conceptualize the terms radiological guide and surgical guide. Importance of radiological guidance in treatment planning. Radiodiagnostic tests and their indications. SUBJECT 4. SELECTION OF PILLARS Factors that define the type of pillar to be used. Machined pillar, mechanized casting and casting, characteristics and indications. Screwed prostheses versus cemented prostheses. SUBJECT 5. PRINT TAKING Differences between natural teeth and implants and their importance in taking impressions. Objectives of impressions on implants. Different additions necessary to take impressions. Open bucket and closed bucket technique. Characteristics and indications. Materials needed for emptying the impression. PRACTICE taking impressions SUBJECT 6. TEMPORARY PROSTHESIS Importance of the provisional prosthesis. Types of provisional prostheses, indications. Load concepts and immediate aesthetics. SUBJECT 7. UNITARY PROSTHESIS Know the differential characteristics between anterior and posterior unitary prostheses. Different elements necessary for the manufacture of unitary prostheses on implants. Risk factors for achieving an aesthetic result on the anterior forehead. Know the importance of the distribution of forces in the posterior sector, as well as that of the crown-implant relationship. SUBJECT 8. PARTIAL DENTURES Materials used in its preparation. Know what the different phases are in the preparation of an anterior and posterior partial prosthesis. Know the type of occlusion in partial dentures. SUBJECT 9. COMPLETE FIXED PROSTHESIS Know the different types of prostheses to be made depending on the materials and the prostheses to be made. Concept of Hybrid Prosthesis and Full Arch Identify the different additions and materials used in the preparation of a complete fixed prosthesis. Know what type of occlusion we must give to implant-supported fixed prostheses. SUBJECT 10. IMPLANT-RETAINED overdentures Dra .. Understand that it is an overdenture. Clinical indications and contraindications. Conceptualize the terms implant-supported overdenture and mucosa-supported implant overdenture. Practice of activating an overdenture with anchors Know what is the clinical sequence to follow in its preparation
