Introduction

In the event that the health authorities announce a new period of confinement due to the evolution of the health crisis caused by COVID-19, the teaching staff will promptly communicate how this may effect the teaching methodologies and activities as well as the assessment.

Video and Audio Editing is a subject of 4 ECTS credits that is taught during the first semester of the second year of the BA in Audiovisual Communication.

Its justification lies in the fact that editing is a fundamental process for the realization of any audiovisual product. Selecting and ordering the previously recorded material is the process through which the final structure of an audiovisual story is generated, giving it a rhythm and narrative meaning that depends on the editing process.

Teaching and learning activities

In person

Methodology will combine theory and practice with the analysis and visualization of audiovisual material. During the course, there will be 12 practical exercises (individual and in group). It will also be necessary to follow the in class recommended readings and the coaching sessions with the teacher.

TRAINING ACTIVITY

Coaching. Monitoring how students learn the content of the subject, either individually or in groups. In the coaching sessions, mistakes will be corrected, queries answered, and exercises and activities to achieve the established objectives will be suggested.
E-learning. Virtual learning based on ICT.

Evaluation systems and criteria

In person

The subject will be assessed on a continuous evaluation and with a final theoretical exam. It will be necessary to approve both parts to pass the subject.

· PRACTICES - will represent 75% of the final mark of the subject

There will be 11 practical exercises, the best 9 will count for mark. Not delivering a practice implies a 0 in the corresponding part of the note. The delivery of the final report is mandatory and its evaluation represents 20% of the final grade (the other 8 evaluated practices will correspond to 55%).

The attitude in class and the follow-up of the proposed readings will also be taken into account.

· THEORETICAL EXAM: will represent 25% of the final mark of the subject

Best mark possible will be 10 and 4,5 the minimum needed to avarage with the practical part.

In the second call, the mark will be saved if one of the two parts (practical or theoretical) has been successfully passed. In the case of not having passed any of the two parts, a practice equivalent to those carried out during the course, with a weight of 50% of the evaluation, and the theoretical exam, corresponding to the other 50% will have to be carried out.

In third call and later, it will be necessary to repeat the subject.
