The electroencephalography (EEG) lab has an electromagnetically shielded and soundproof booth.

The lab is equipped with everything needed for electroencephalographic studies.

It features a:

  • 32-channel BrainAmp amplifier,
  • Brain Recorder software for data acquisition,
  • Brain Analyzer software for evoked potential analysis and frequency bands,
  • Two sets of 32 actiCAP active electrodes that can be mounted in three different cap sizes, and the
  • consumable material required for proper electrode placement.

The lab is also equipped with two computers for data recording and stimulus delivery that allow studies with auditory and visual stimulation to be carried out. The research team conducting studies in the lab is led by Dr Begoña Díaz.

The lab is currently conducting a research project titled “Study on the relationship between perceptual flexibility of speech and phonological skills in a dyslexic and bilingual population: electroencephalographic evidence,” funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation.

In addition, the laboratory makes it possible to achieve teaching objectives by providing a space for practices for students to become familiar with electroencephalography techniques in the bachelor’s degree programmes in Psychology (in the subject Psychophysiology) and Bioengineering (in the subject Neurosciences).
