Introduction
The training of postgraduate students includes their collaboration in tutored teaching with undergraduate students.
Pre-course requirements
No previous requirements
Objectives
To teach dentistry students to perform the different phases of endodontic treatment in vitro, using both monoradicular and multiradicular extracted teeth.
To learn about coronal and radicular anatomy and how to perform the access cavity
To learn the techniques of instrumentation
To learn about the different irrigators and their indications
To learn the different techniques of obturation and their indications
To reinforce Master's students' knowledge through teaching practice while also providing tools to enhance their oral expression skills in public.
To be able to work in a team, respecting others and fostering situations that maintain and enhance cooperation to achieve set goals.
Competences/Learning outcomes of the degree programme
Students will be expected to:
Acquire new knowledge and techniques autonomously and aspire to achieve quality in dentistry
Learn to share information with other healthcare professionals and work as part of a team
Transmit knowledge to graduate dental students
Solve any problems that arise or answer queries expressed by undergraduate students during their preclinical practices
Learning outcomes of the subject
Students will be expected to:
Answer any theoretical questions raised by undergraduate students
Solve problems that graduate students might experience during the performance of their pre-clinical practices
Syllabus
Isolating the operative field
Coronal and radicular anatomy in monoradicular and multiradicular teeth
Coronal openings
Access and location of root canals
Instrumentation techniques, instructions and managing different systems
Obturation techniques, indications and clinical management
Teaching and learning activities
In blended
Online attendance to the theoretical classes of the subject of Craniomandibular Dysfunction and Orofacial Pain of the undergraduate subject. It will be based on master classes and reading of current and classic literature about the marked agenda.
Evaluation systems and criteria
In blended
The final evaluation will be as follows:
Theoretical test:
The evaluation will contain all the theoretical concepts taught throughout the semester. It will consist of 100 multiple choice test questions. Each correct answer will be a point. Incorrect answers will subtract 0.20 points from the final score. To pass the test, a minimum score of 50 points must be obtained. The theoretical test will represent 60% of the total grade for the subject.
Practical test:
The practical part will be carried out based on the daily evaluation of the student attending to the acquisition of knowledge, ability, and attitude (including punctuality), and a practical test. The practical test will represent 40% of the total grade for the course, it will be based on 20 clinical cases and 10 cases of analysis of complementary tests.
It will be necessary to obtain a total score (theoretical test + practical test) of 5/10 to pass the course. Likewise, it will be necessary to pass both exams individually (practical and theoretical) to pass the subject.
