In times of rapid change – digital, economic, environmental and cultural – the quality of our human relationships is key to caring for and strengthening society.
Human relationships are the cornerstone of life in society. The quality of our lives is largely a reflection of the quality of these relationships. They also help build the trust, cooperation and cohesion that sustain our communities. In times of rapid change – digital, economic, environmental and cultural – the quality of our human relationships is key to caring for and strengthening society. As a result, this edition of the Student Academic Conference will revolve around the topic “Caring for society through human relationships”.
Caring relationships are not limited to intimate and family contexts but pervade politics, economics, education, health and culture. They therefore must be rethought and studied in all fields of knowledge. Care, whose Latin equivalent, ‘curae’, means ‘to look after, to take care of, to worry about’, is a cross-cutting concept that links science, art and everyday life.
The aim of this edition is to use scientific study and rigour to examine how human relationships can become instruments of care and social transformation, through stimulating and transformative interdisciplinary and cross-cutting dialogue.
