This new edition of the SEDEM Congress, hosted by the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at UIC Barcelona, centres on the idea “Pursuing excellence: from scientific evidence to educational innovation”. This event provides a forum for sharing experiences, teaching innovation, and research outcomes in medical education.

Over several days, the educational community will reflect on and discuss today’s major challenges in medical training: from curriculum design and competency‑based learning to assessment methods, clinical simulation, the incorporation of new technologies, and the development of professional and humanistic skills among future healthcare professionals.

Our mission:

  • Promote excellence and innovation in medical education
  • Strengthen collaboration between medical faculties, university hospitals, and centres for educational research
  • Support the development and dissemination of effective teaching methodologies
  • Promote research in medical education and the exchange of good practice

What to expect at the congress

  • Keynote lectures by experts in medical education
  • Scientific communications and presentations of innovative teaching experiences
  • Interactive workshops on learning and assessment methodologies
  • Meeting spaces and networking between teachers and researchers

The SEDEM Congress offers a valuable opportunity to reflect on the present and future of medical education, share experiences and strengthen the community of teaching staff committed to training the next generation of doctors.
