With the aim of ensuring that Bachelor’s degree in Audiovisual Communication students can put into practice what they have learned in the classroom, the Faculty of Communication Sciences organised an extracurricular activity called “Remaking”. After analysing a complex cinematographic sequence, students must plan and undertake a film shoot that achieves the same camera angles and creates the same impact on spectators. The technical team (director, director of photography, wardrobe etc.) and the artistic team (actors and extras) are all students.
Remaking is an excellent opportunity for students to learn at first-hand about what production and filming involves, as well as develop the skills they will need to learn so they can work in a team.
For the second consecutive year our students will put themselves in the shoes of directors, producers, camerapeople, etc, to shoot the most important scenes from large film productions. Geoffrey Cowper, a professor at UIC Barcelona who is also a cinema director is in charge of organising this second edition.
The films chosen for this year’s remakes include “La La Land”, “Whiplash”, “The Big Lebowski”, “Saturday Night Fever”, “The Dead Poet’s Society” and “Risky Business”. You will have the opportunity to watch them all at an event that will take place on 21 June at 6.30 p.m. in the Aula Jardí room at UIC Barcelona. Here is a sneak preview:
