Presentación

La asignatura Diseño Digital en Odontología ofrece una formación integral, teórica y práctica, dividida en dos bloques semestrales: una primera fase eminentemente práctica orientada al manejo de herramientas informáticas y de escaneado, y una segunda fase teórica focalizada en la revisión sistemática y análisis crítico de la literatura científica actual en odontología digital.

Requisitos previos

 Conocimientos básicos de anatomía dental, oclusión y prótesis dental.
 Nociones fundamentales de informática a nivel de usuario.
 Capacidad de lectura y comprensión de artículos científicos en inglés técnico.

Objetivos

  • Primer Semestre: Capacitar al estudiante en la toma de impresiones digitales (escaneado intraoral) y en el diseño asistido por ordenador (CAD) de restauraciones con diferentes softwares de diseño. 
  • Segundo Semestre: Proporcionar al alumno las herramientas metodológicas para la búsqueda, lectura crítica y revisión de la literatura científica más reciente sobre tecnología digital en odontología.
  • Comprender la evidencia científica que avala el uso de los diferentes flujos de trabajo digitales frente a los métodos convencionales.

  • - Evidencia científica en Odontología Restauradora Estética - - El alumno conoce las bases y criterios del diagnóstico estético y del análisis de la sonrisa - El alumno comprende los principios de la osteointegración y de la prótesis sobre implantes - El alumno conoce los mecanismos y materiales de adhesión en odontología sobre los diferentes materiales - El alumno conoce en profundidad la anatomía dentaria y oral - El alumno analiza la literatura científica con espíritu crítico. - El alumno analiza la calidad de la literatura científica por su contenido más que por su presentación y formato. - El alumno busca información científica sobre temas relacionados con la funciona odontología restauradora estética. - El alumno realiza una revisión bibliográfica sobre temas concretos del ámbito de la odontología restauradora estética y tiene en cuenta sus relaciones con otros ámbitos de la Odontología, para poder actuar de forma avanzada y multidisciplinar. - El alumno aprende a aplicar la metodología de la investigación en sus trabajos científicos. - El alumno aprende las bases del análisis estadístico necesarias para el desarrollo de sus trabajos de investigación y el análisis de los resultados obtenidos. - El alumno asume que la revisión de la literatura científica debe ser una herramienta imprescindible en su quehacer profesional y que todos los procedimientos clínicos usados en la profesión deben de estar basados en la evidencia científica. - El alumno realiza publicaciones sobre revisiones bibliográficas al disponer de las bases teóricas y prácticas para realizarlas. - El alumno integra conocimientos y se enfrenta a la complejidad de formular juicios a partir de una información clínica y bibliográfica que puede llegar a ser limitada en ocasiones.
  • - Nuevas Tecnologías en Odontología Restauradora Estética - El alumno mantiene una actualización constante en el campo de las nuevas tecnologías y materiales profesionales, para poder ser un odontólogo restaurador en continua formación. - El alumnos aprende a realizar preparaciones en los dientes para poder realizar tratamientos complejos en operatoria directa e indirecta - El alumnos aprende a ejecutar los tratamiento más complejos en operatoria dental directa e indirecta - El alumno mantiene contactos con la industria y las firmas comerciales para poder comunicarles sus necesidades como profesional experto en el ámbito avanzado y multidisciplinar de la odontología restauradora estética. También trabaja con ellas para iniciar nuevas investigaciones o tecnologías.
  • - Planificación clínica multidisciplinar o compleja - El alumno es capaz de usar correctamente la terminología científica relacionada con la odontología restauradora estética, realizando un correcto análisis y diagnóstico extraoral del tercio inferior de la cara de los pacientes, destacándose los aspectos estéticos y funcionales de los dientes y partes blandas de la boca en este análisis. También sabe efectuar una correcta exploración y diagnóstico intraoral del aparato masticatorio de los pacientes. - Los alumnos son capaces de identificar y reproducir los criterios de la macroestética y microestética dental, también en los tejidos duros y blandos de la boca. - El alumno es capaz de analizar y diagnosticar los casos clínicos de alta complejidad asi como realizar planificación multidisciplinar. - El alumno es capaz de presentar y discutir sus planes de tratamiento en base a la literatura científica en el ámbito de la Odontología Restauradora Estética - El alumno tiene una formación multidisicplinar básica que le permite planificar los tratamientos que engloban Ortodoncia, Cirugía, Periodoncia, Prostodoncia y Oclusión. - El alumno es capaz de realizar presentaciones públicas sobre casos clínicos, con todos los detalles diagnósticos y exploraciones complementarias requeridas, haciendo propuestas de planes de tratamientos referenciados en la literatura científica. - Los alumnos tienen un conocimiento claro y avanzado en conceptos como la osteointegración, adaptación pasiva, torque, conexión implantológica, superficie del implante, tipo de pilar protésico, tipos de impresiones a realizar, transferencia de los parámetros oclusales funcionales y estéticos…También eligen, de forma personalizada para cada paciente, los distintos aditamentos implantológicos y realizan las distintas pruebas y comprobaciones de los componentes protésicos durante el proceso de confección de las prótesis oral, consiguiendo controlar dicho proceso en todo momento a fin de que las prótesis estomatológicas terminadas cumplan con los objetivos funcionales y estéticos marcados en un inicio. - El alumno tiene conocimientos científicos para elegir el tipo de material con el que esté confeccionada la rehabilitación a instalar en el paciente. - Los alumnos tienen las herramientas para mantener su formación continuada actualizada. Deben saber adaptar su práctica clínica y su equipo tecnológico a los avances y modificaciones que se produzcan a lo largo de su vida profesional, que puede ser autónoma y autodirigida.

Contenidos

  • Primer Semestre (Módulo Práctico de Diseño Digital):
    • Bloque 1: Captura de datos: Escaneado intraoral, extraoral y archivos de imagen (STL, PLY, DICOM).
    • Bloque 2: Software CAD: Diseño de incrustaciones, coronas, carillas, puentes, férula de descarga y guía quirúrgica.
    • Bloque 3: Principios de fabricación asistida (CAM): Impresión 3D y fresado.
  • Segundo Semestre (Módulo Teórico - Revisión de la Literatura):
    • Bloque 4: Fuentes de información científica y bases de datos bibliográficas en odontología.
    • Bloque 5: Lectura crítica de la evidencia actual sobre precisión, ajuste marginal y tasa de éxito del flujo digital vs. analógico.
    • Bloque 6: Tendencias emergentes en la literatura: Inteligencia artificial aplicada al diagnóstico, nuevos materiales biocompatibles y fotogrametría.

    • 1.er Semestre: Talleres prácticos (hands-on) en aula informática con licencias de software CAD y demostraciones con escáneres intraorales.
    • 2.º Semestre: Clases teóricas, seminarios de discusión de artículos científicos (journal club).
