Grants for master's degrees and postgraduate programmes
1. Princesa de Girona Foundation Grants
For students with a bachelor's degree qualification
The Princesa de Girona Grants aim to support talented young people who stand out for their social commitment and leadership capacity, and need financial support.
Be accepted in the UIC Barcelona selection process for one of the programmes indicated, in which the following will be evaluated:
Academic excellence.
Social commitment through participation in volunteer work or work in non-profit organisations with values similar to those of the Princesa de Girona Foundation.
Priority will be given to candidates who demonstrate a need for financial support.
Being part of the graduate community of any Princesa de Girona Foundation programmes, or within the group of winners or finalists of the foundation's award categories will be positively valued.
How to apply for the grant?
Applications for the Princesa de Girona Foundation Grant programme will be submitted using the online form available on the Princesa de Girona Foundation website within the following deadlines:
Before 1 July: for programmes starting in the months of September and October.
Before 1 December: for programmes starting in January.
This grant is not compatible with other financial aid or discounts from UIC Barcelona.
2. Grants for UIC Barcelona master’s degrees
These grants are open to both national and international applicants who hold a bachelor’s degree.
Two grants covering 20% of the total tuition fee for the full programme will be awarded for the following master’s degrees.
In addition to the list above, a further seven grants will be awarded, each covering 20% of the tuition fee, for master’s degrees freely designated by UIC Barcelona.
These grants are open to both national and international applicants who hold a bachelor’s degree.
Application and decision process
Academic excellence will be taken into account when evaluating candidates for each master’s degree. Grants will be awarded after drawing up a ranking which will analyse the following elements:
Academic transcript from the most recently completed bachelor’s degree
Candidate’s curriculum vitae and motivation letter
personal interview
This grant is not compatible with any other discount or financial aid offered by UIC Barcelona.
3. Grant for the best undergraduate academic record
For students who have completed a bachelor's degree at UIC Barcelona
One grant will be awarded per year and degree, equivalent to 20% of the cost of the master's or postgraduate degree at UIC Barcelona, with the exception of master's degrees in dentistry.
Requirements
Hold a bachelor's degree from UIC Barcelona.
You must be studying a master's degree or postgraduate programme at UIC Barcelona during the academic year immediately following the year in which you complete your degree.
Have obtained the best academic record for the degree studied at UIC Barcelona.
How do I apply for the grant?
The Board of each Faculty/Centre/Department proposes the candidates with the five best undergraduate records to the Grants and Financial Aid Service.
The Grants and Financial Aid Committee approves the candidates from each of the degree programmes to which the grant will be awarded.
The grant is applied to the enrolment fee for the master's degree or postgraduate programme in the following academic year.
For students with a degree of disability greater than or equal to 33%
Grant of 50% of the tuition fees for a full year of undergraduate, postgraduate, master's or doctoral studies at UIC Barcelona (two exam sittings per subject). It is incompatible with other UIC Barcelona grants or financial aid.
Documentation
The disability must be certified by the corresponding public body in Spain.
