13th Cross-Disciplinary Sustainability Workshop

Office for Cooperation and Sustainable Development

The Cross-Disciplinary Sustainability Workshop is an annual event open to the whole university community, exploring issues related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by bringing together multiple disciplines.

Each Workshop has been organised by the UIC Barcelona Office for Cooperation and Sustainable Development, which is leading the initiative again this year for its thirteenth edition.

Titled “Water for a Sustainable World”, the Cross-Disciplinary Sustainability Workshop will focus on SDGs 6, 13 and 17, by analysing the link between water and climate change, with a view to raising awareness of sustainable water use.

The Workshop will be held in person on the Barcelona Campus on 25 November and will kick off with a round table of experts titled “Problems and solutions regarding sustainable water use. The cases of Israel and Spain”. The discussion will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Aula Magna lecture theatre, and feature the following speakers:

  • Dr Ram Shpiner. Kinneret College on the Sea of Galilee. Israel
  • Dr Sandra Puig. Ministry for Ecological Transition. Spain

The round table will be moderated by Dr Carmen Mendoza, assistant director of the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture.

Following the round table, communal spaces in Alfa and Beta Buildings and the Passeig de la Fontana on the Barcelona Campus will be filled with interactive workshops and scientific posters presented by UIC Barcelona students.
