The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences’ Department of Medicine is organising the first edition of the Medical Student Conference – Update on Health.

Intended for all Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine students, this initiative provides attendees the opportunity to update their knowledge with the participation of leading hospital sector professionals and develop a critical and holistic vision of the challenges inherent to medical practice, taking into account not only technological innovation but also the social and human impact in healthcare.

The event will be structured into four round table discussions, which will touch upon topical issues such as the mental health pandemic currently plaguing society, and its impact on health professionals and children and young people; effective strategies and models for chronic patient care; and the innovative use of cutting-edge technology such as robotics and AI in various medical specialities.
