As part of International Week 2025, the University is organising the International Staff Training Week, which will feature two workshops open to all teaching and research (PDI) and administrative and service staff (PAS) at UIC Barcelona. 

Intercultural Communication Workshop

27 October, 15.30–17.00 
Saló de Graus, Barcelona Campus 

The aim of this workshop is to develop the intercultural sensitivity of PAS and PDI at UIC Barcelona in a dynamic way, with participants from several foreign universities, who will be on hand at the University during Staff Training Week. Intercultural sensitivity is an essential skill in today’s world, in which interaction with members of diverse cultures is becoming increasingly common and necessary. This workshop reflects our commitment to comprehensive internationalisation at UIC Barcelona and the creation of an intercultural environment that benefits not only the University team, but also the external partners participating in the event. 
 

Internationalization and Innovation in the Classroom: COIL and Virtual Exchange

29 October, 11.30–13.00 
Auditorium, Sant Cugat Campus 

This workshop on COIL and virtual exchange will reflect on ways to maximise the benefits and mitigate the challenges of this innovative methodology. The workshop will be delivered by UIC Barcelona's International Relations Service and conclude with a practical case led by a representative from the University of Monterrey (Mexico).
