ISCAR 2025 - Southern European and Middle Eastern Conference
From 5–7 November, the Faculty of Education Sciences will play host to the Congress of the International Society for Cultural-historical Activity Research (ISCAR); a congress which was first organised in 1986, yet which became formally established in 2002 in Amsterdam. At present, ISCAR is comprised of ten regional sections around the world and aims to foster the century-old tradition of cultural-historical research in educational and professional settings and distinct organisations.
This year, UIC Barcelona is scheduled to host the ISCAR Southern European and Middle Eastern Conference. Under the title “Towards Equity, Peace and Sustainability in Time of Crisis”, this year’s theme underscores the importance of equity, peace and sustainability as foundational pillars for creating just societies.
The conference will provide a platform for scholars from various disciplines to discuss and co-create knowledge, encouraging critical reflection on the historical roots, contemporary applications and future perspectives of Cultural-Historical Activity Theory.
