Presentation of the book 'The last in vitro'
As part of the programme of activities organised for the University’s Cultural April, the Department of Medicine will host the presentation of the book The last in vitro by Dr Francisco Güell, which will take place on the Sant Cugat Campus.
Dr Güell holds degrees in biology and philosophy and a Master’s Degree in Bioethics. He specialises in the study of assisted reproduction, with particular focus on the health and development of children born through these techniques. In his new book, he brings together all the essential information to help readers understand how these techniques work and their effects.
The session will also feature the round table “Luces y sombras de la reproducción asistida” (‘The benefits and challenges of assisted reproduction’), with contributions from the author, who will be joined by Laura Rabinad, embryologist and healthcare psychologist specialising in assisted reproduction, and Dr Albert Balaguer, professor of paediatrics, lecturer in the Department of Medicine and practitioner in the Paediatrics Service of the Hospital Universitari General de Catalunya, a centre affiliated with the University.
The event is free of charge and aimed at students, teaching staff and professionals in the health sciences.
Places are limited.
