UIC Barcelona ranks in the Clinical and Health field and improves its national positioning in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by subject

For the second consecutive year, UIC Barcelona has been ranked in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by subject in the field of Clinical and Health, obtaining a position of 501-600 out of the 925 institutions ranked worldwide in the 2022 ranking and, nationally, a position =11 out of the 41 Spanish universities included in the ranking

The areas of study included in this field are medicine, dentistry, and others related to health (physiotherapy, nursing, bioengineering and biomedical sciences). 

In the field of Clinical and Health, UIC Barcelona has improved its position in comparison to last year’s overall score, maintaining the same range of results worldwide even with the increase in the number of universities included in the ranking (925 universities in this year’s ranking compared to 856 in last year’s).

This year, UIC Barcelona has increased its overall score in the field of Clinical and Health from the previous ranking, as well as in two of its five pillars: international perspective (+1.5) and industry revenues (+1). 

At a national level, UIC Barcelona has increased its position with respect to last year’s results and, internationally, it come in third behind the University of Vic and the Pompeu Fabra University.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings by subject provides a ranking of the best universities in the world by subject area, covering eleven areas and providing an overview of the best places in the world to study a chosen discipline. 
The eleven subject areas are: Arts and humanities; Business and Economics; Clinical and Health; Computer Science; Education; Engineering; Law; Life Sciences; Physical Sciences; Physiology and Social Sciences. 

The methodology followed to compile the World University Rankings by subject is based on thirteen performance indicators, which are grouped into five areas: Teaching, research, citations, international outlook, industry income and academic reputation, which are recalibrated to suit each subject individually.
