Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC) has improved its position in the 2026 edition of the ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS), placing among the world’s top 150 universities in Dentistry and Oral Sciences.

In this latest edition, UIC has moved from the 151–200 range in 2025 to the 101–150 range worldwide. At national level, the University has also improved its position, placing 3rd–4th among the nine Spanish universities listed in the ranking, up from 4th–5th in the previous edition. UIC has also retained its position as the highest-ranked Spanish private university in Dentistry and Oral Sciences.

The results highlight UIC’s sustained performance in a discipline in which it has maintained a presence in the ShanghaiRanking since 2017. Throughout this period, the University has consistently ranked among the world’s top 200 institutions, reaching the 101–150 range in 2021, 2024 and, once again, in 2026.

This progression reflects the growing international recognition of Dentistry and Oral Sciences at UIC and underscores the University’s performance in research, scientific impact and international collaboration.

In the 2026 edition, ShanghaiRanking has included 300 universities from around the world in the field of Dentistry and Oral Sciences. This places UIC among the international institutions with the strongest performance in this field, while further consolidating its position within the Spanish university landscape.

The Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS), compiled by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy, assesses university performance across a range of academic disciplines based on indicators related to scientific output, research impact, international collaboration and academic recognition.

The improvement achieved in 2026 builds on UIC’s progress in major international rankings and further enhances the University’s international visibility in one of its key academic and research fields.
