Sara Hernández-Ortega, PhDE

I studied biotechnology and I did my PhD in molecular biology. My studies have shown that cyclins are nutrient-dependent, regulated by E3 ligases and become important for cell-cycle progression in yeast in low-nutrient conditions. I’m currently focusing on finding out how these accessory cyclins are also regulated in mammals.

When I’m not in the lab, you’ll maybe find me out with my dog hiking around or playing a timba drum with my batucada group.
