Introduction

Executive production is the directly business-related part of any project, but it is also a field in which creativity is essential. Producers must be able to turn their own ideas or those of others into reality, and to do so they must have a thorough understanding of all the creative processes involved in audiovisual production, as well as the various legal, economic and business issues that directly affect the development, production and distribution of the project.

This course will study the film production model in detail, bearing in mind that for the production of any other audiovisual project, this model must be adapted to the specific characteristics of each work.

Pre-course requirements

To take this course, students must have basic theoretical knowledge of field production and have practised in this field through group production exercises and the creation of short videos, commercials and short films of an academic nature. An understanding of audiovisual language and narrative is also highly recommended. Technically, a minimum knowledge of cinematography, design and video editing is also required.

As a complement, it would be beneficial for students to have a basic knowledge of film history, as well as an interest in the world of contemporary cinema.

Objectives

The basic objective of this course is to learn about the world of executive production for any audiovisual project. In addition, it aims to reinforce students' theoretical and practical knowledge in all phases of audiovisual production.
