3rd edition of the SDG Congress

3rd edition of the SDG Congress of the 2030 Agenda: Climate action, health and ethics

Rules of the competition and presentation of research projects and intervention proposals

Who can present?

Students of any UIC Barcelona undergraduate or postgraduate degree in groups of two to six people.

What can be presented?

It is necessary to choose a problem or issue related to health and climate change and the resulting social consequences, and then conduct research that provides solutions for improvement. The results of the research must be presented in one of the accepted formats: research project or intervention proposal.

How will it work?

An oral presentation must be presented to a group of expert evaluators and the university community that includes the research project or an intervention proposal about a situation or a problem related to climate action (SDG 13) and its ethical and social consequences.

Presentations must be based on research and must present feasible solutions from the perspective of the undergraduate or postgraduate course that students take (education, bioengineering, health, psychology, communication, economy, law, etc.).

If intervention proposal is the chosen format, it must be applicable in a local environment.

What will be evaluated?

The viability and sustainability of the project in its presentation and execution will be evaluated.

Evaluation of the research project will look for a rigorous analysis of the problem from a comprehensive sustainability approach, and a strong communicative aspect in the presentation of the project. It must also include the following points: title, theoretical framework, research objectives, research methodology, results, discussion and bibliographic references. Finally, it will be necessary to adapt to the presentation time to a maximum of 10 minutes.

In the intervention proposal category the following aspects must be developed: objectives, justification of the intervention proposal, implementation methodology, discussion and bibliographic references. The presentation time must also adhere to a maximum of 10 minutes.

Recognition

Most of the projects presented will be part of the curriculum of a subject and, therefore, they have an evaluation weight in the corresponding subject.

A total of three prizes will be awarded:

  • 1st prize for the best research project (postgraduate): academic certificate and a €300 voucher from the FNAC.
