Observatory of the Invisible

An immersive art and spirituality experience

The Observatory of the Invisible is a summer school for students and professionals from different artistic disciplines, developed through an immersive art and spirituality. 

It is carried out through practical disciplinary workshops in which each student signs up and participates with a renowned artist. This edition was held in the Reial Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, in Madrid.
 

Edition 2025: “Oh, llama de amor viva” From July 21st to 26th, 2025

  • Rosell Meseguer – Photography
     

There will also be concerts, recitals, exhibitions by workshops and interdisciplinary artistic evenings.

Location: Monestir of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, in Madrid

The Observatory of the Invisible is held at the Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, in Madrid. It is a place of profound history and spirituality. Founded in the 16th century, this monastery has since been considered the Eighth Wonder of the World, both for its size and functional complexity, as well as for its enormous symbolic value. Its sober architecture and cultural setting make it a destination of peace and reflection.

Registrations and UIC Barcelona grants

To contribute to the holistic training of university community in complementary activities and thereby enrich the knowledge acquired in their studies, the University gives the following discounts:

  • Grant SAC: 150 € for UIC Barcelona students who have had a quality participation in the SAC Congress at the discretion of the SAC Steering Committee. Before registering on the Observatory of the Invisible, you must apply for the scholarship by writing to uicsac@uic.es
  • Grant CIP:

*The grant application does not secure a place in the Observatory of the Invisible workshops, which are governed by their own selection criteria.

The Observatory of the Invisible is a project of the VIA Foundation, founded by a group of artists from different disciplines among which are top artists such as composer and conductor Ignacio Yepes, architect Benjamín Cano, painter María Tarruella or the sculptor Javier Viver and whose honorary president is Antonio López. It aims to promote art and artists through renewal and integration of the different artistic disciplines and research, training and exchange of experiences and knowledge.
