Exhibition: An American Dream: Architectural Firms and the Corporate Work of Josep Maria Bosch Aymerich
From 17 November to 3 December, UIC will host the exhibition “An American Dream: Architectural Firms and the Corporate Work of Josep Maria Bosch Aymerich”, which explores the architectural legacy of Josep Maria Bosch Aymerich (1917–2015), structured around his business organisation, as part of Barcelona 2026, World Capital of Architecture.
The exhibition traces the evolution and diversification of the architect’s work alongside his business career, exploring the links between his architectural projects and the structure and development of his business ventures. The exhibition is curated by Tomás Masó, a lecturer in the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture, and will remain on display from 17 November to 3 December in the Delta Building on UIC’s Barcelona Campus (Carrer de Terré).
The travelling exhibition was first shown at the headquarters of the Association of Architects of Catalonia (COAC) and will move on to the UPC after its run at UIC. Josep Maria Bosch Aymerich was a Catalan architect known for projects such as the Cap Sa Sal Hotel in Begur and the Hoechst Ibérica building in Barcelona. He also played a pivotal role in Catalonia’s industrial and urban development, particularly in establishing SEAT’s factory in Barcelona. In 2013, he was awarded the Creu de Sant Jordi (St George's Cross) in recognition of his career achievements.
The exhibition has been possible thanks to support from the Bosch Aymerich Foundation.
