Online conference: Artificial intelligence and medicine of the future

Observatory on Artificial Intelligence and New Technologies Online

According to many experts, over the coming decades, artificial intelligence will transform the way health professionals work. With this in mind, the Observatory on Artificial Intelligence and New Technologies (OIANT) at UIC Barcelona has organised an online conference titled “Artificial intelligence and medicine of the future”, given by a leading expert who will explain the key aspects of this transformation and offer us a glimpse of what is to come.

The speaker invited to give the talk next Wednesday 17 February, from 2 to 3.30 p.m. is Dr Alfonso Valencia, ICREA research professor, director of the Department of Life Sciences at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS), director of the Spanish National Bioinformatics Institute (INB-ISCIII) and director of the Spanish node of the European network ELIXIR. Dr Valencia is a leading expert in personalised medicine and genomics, with decades of experience as a researcher and numerous publications in some of the most prestigious scientific journals.

The session will be moderated by Dr Gabriel Fernández Borsot, director of the OIANT and lecturer at the Faculty of Humanities at UIC Barcelona.
